Prayer & Fasting, Pt 2

Are you weighted down with a heavy burden concerning your own life or the life of someone you love? Nehemiah was likewise burdened for the remnant in Jerusalem. So full of mourning was he that he was moved to fast to seek God's intervention. Isaiah 58 speaks of a fast that "God chooses:" a fast to "loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and (to) break every yoke." Today we hear testimony of Shellie Hooper, who fasted over a burden for her son, and how her family experienced the freedom of God!
