knowing christ
"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."
Knowing Christ!

God created man in His image! Therefore man was created to reflect the glory of God, and in the beginning, man did. Adam and Eve walked with God in a personal, intimate relationship with Him. They knew God. This is still God’s purpose for every man and woman ever created!

This image was marred and the relationship with God broken when this first couple sinned. As a result of their rebellion, sin entered into the world. Thus, every human being born throughout history enters life sinful. This sinful state separates us from God.

God’s desire has never faltered. He desires to be in relationship with man! His desire is to be known! Therefore He sent His son Jesus Christ to restore the broken relationship between God and man. Jesus lived a life without sin and paid the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. He bore our sins on the cross.

The Bible says that God loved the world so much that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

This everlasting life begins the moment a person chooses to believe that what Jesus did two thousand years ago He did for him. As a result of this belief a person repents of his sin and chooses to follow Christ!

Not only did Jesus die to take away our sin, He was also resurrected -- raised from the dead by the power of God -- to demonstrate Christ's power over sin and death! And this same power of the resurrected Christ comes to live in us, to give us new life, and to give us victory over the sin in our lives -- once again restoring our relationship with God, and fulfilling the purpose He had for our lives from the very beginning.

This is what a growing, relationship with Christ means! It is a salvation from a lifestyle of sin to a life that is being restored back to what was lost when man first sinned. It is a life that is being conformed into the image of Christ! A life where a person can say, “I know Christ!” A life in which a person lives on every word that comes out of the mouth of God!

Do you have this kind of relationship with God through Christ?

Would you like to have a relationship with God – a relationship that sees your life being conformed into His image? You can! Romans 10:9 says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as LORD and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

If you believe this and are ready to have a relationship with God by receiving Jesus Christ as both your Savior and your Lord, please pray this prayer:

Dear Jesus,

I confess my sin to You; I am a sinner! Thank You for dying on the cross to pay the price for my sin. Right now, I believe that what You did on the cross two thousand years ago You did for me, to take away my sin, to come into my life and to conform me into Your image! Lord, I turn from this sinful life I’ve lived and ask You to forgive me of my sin. I invite You into my life to cleanse me and restore my relationship with God through You! Not only do I ask You to save me from my sin, but I also ask You to become Lord of my life, leading and guiding me as I submit my life to Your leadership.

Oh Lord, I ask that You would send Your Spirit into my life to teach me through Your Word, to guide me, and to help me through life's struggles. You paid the price for my life, and now I give it back to You. I put my faith and my trust in You, and decide right now to follow You for the rest of my life. I love You and thank You for this free gift of God, which is eternal and abundant life through You, Lord Jesus - both in this life and the life to come!

All this I pray and ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen
